OUR VISION
To see the church influencing the culture in every aspect of daily life including social issues, legislation, and public policy.
OUR MISSION
• To awaken, nurture and strengthen a biblical worldview within the church (Prov. 29:18, Hos. 4:6).
• To promote a biblical worldview in all spheres of life, society and culture (Matt. 5:13-14, 2 Cor. 10:4-5).
• To serve the church as a source of information for understanding key social, moral, legal and political issues.
• To organize the church through prayer, education, training and targeted action.
WHAT IS A FAITH AND PUBLIC POLICY MINISTRY?
A Faith and Public Policy Ministry monitors the cultural landscape through the lens of scripture. Social issues, legislation, and public policy are all part of this landscape. The ministry’s findings are then provided to the church with the goal of educating, equipping, and encouraging Christians to have a godly influence upon our society and culture.
“And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all,
able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in
opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that
they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses
and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive
by him to do his will.”

A FAITH AND PUBLIC POLICY MINISTRY IN ACTION
The effort to defend traditional marriage in the State of California is one instance where faith and public policy crossed. Throughout the state, churches joined the campaign to support Proposition 8, the California Constitutional Amendment defining marriage “as between one man and one woman.” The result was the biblical definition of marriage was legally protected.
Watchmen Ministry serves to educate, equip, and encourage the church to stand for righteousness in the public square. We provide opportunities for this by actively:
• Hosting monthly meetings designed to provide a deeper understanding of current issues.
• Distributing informative legislative briefings and updates.
• Hosting special events to address specific topics and issues.
• Producing and distributing voter guides and hosting election forums.
• Engaging in outreaches to other churches by providing assistance in starting a salt and light
ministry, sharing information and resources and working together on specific issues.
• Making our concerns known to the elected and the influential.
• Providing user-friendly action alerts to respond to targeted issues.
• Participating in the political/electoral process by conducting voter registration and petition
drives.
OUR FOCUS
Our focus is on the biblical and moral issues that have an impact upon the church and the family. Anti-religious laws have passed in our nation, and it is imperative that Christians pray and act to see that America returns to its Judeo-Christian foundation.
The Watchmen Ministry Focuses on:
Religious Liberties: Protecting our right to proclaim the gospel, and opposing burdensome legislation aimed to silence the Christian voice in the public square.
Human Life: Preserving life at every stage, opposing all forms of abortion (partial-birth, morning after pill, etc.), and opposing all forms of suicide, embryonic stem cell research and cloning.
Traditional Marriage: Preserving traditional marriage, building strong marriages, deterring divorce.
Parental Rights: Maintaining parental rights, and raising children with a strong foundation in Christ.
Human Sexuality: Promoting sexual morality and purity and protecting children from sexually immoral influences in society.
